Is it necessary for a bookkeeper performing BAS and payroll services to be a Registered BAS Agent?
The short answer is yes. All bookkeepers operating in Australia are bound by the Tax Agent Services Legislation and there are severe penalties for any breach of the law. Note: if a bookkeeper is performing BAS services and is not a registered BAS Agent, it is possible to comply with legislation by means of facilitating the service through a BAS Agent.

Data files and other sensitive documents are backed up daily and kept off-site for added security.


Are all those professional memberships and affiliations necessary?
Professional memberships are a very important part of running a successful bookkeeping business. Because our industry is very complex and often changing, it is imperative that we are at the forefront of the latest industry-related news. This means we are always revising and training, always networking with others in the industry to ensure we can provide our clients with up-to-the-minute services and information.


What if I want to have some input into the bookkeeping?
We love that some clients prefer to do their own data entry. We understand that all business owners are unique and have very different needs and if you are happy to do some of the work then we will support you 100%. And don’t worry if you have no experience, we can provide training to you and your staff on the MYOB software so that you will be up and running in no time!


I don’t have time to chase up paperwork and attend to queries, isn’t that a bookkeeper’s job?
Yes and no. Some business owners are under the impression that by engaging a bookkeeper, they can wipe their hands of all responsibility regarding the business’s financial matters. This is a misconception. A bookkeeper is unable to perform their duties unless he/she has the full support of the business owner.
